Kasperske Hory

Kasperske hory is situated in Sumava (the Bohemian Forest) 740 metres above the sea level. Accommodation in Kasperske hory can be the best choice for biking, hiking and skiing. In winter you can use for skiing down-hill slopes and crosscountry tracks. In summer Sumava (the Bohemian Forest) is a beautiful place for biking and hiking. It offers many trips and places of interest. The Otava River is suitable for rafting or canoeing. The town Kasperske hory existed already in the 13th–14th century. During the rule of John of Luxemburg the town was promoted to mining town. There are several places of interest in the town – the renaissance town hall from the year 1597, the gothic building rebuilt in 1883 after the fire in 1863, cemetery chapel of st. Anna, decanal church of st. Margaret – was established in the 2nd half of the 14th century, cemetery church of st. Nicolas – was built around the year 1330 and the pilgrims´ church of Virgin Marie Snezna from the years 1850–1867. Kasperske hory and its neighbourhood belongs with their nature to the most valuable parts of Sumava (the Bohemian Forest). There are the castle Rabi, the castle Velhratice, salt trail and many other cultural and natural places of interest in the neighbour of Kasperske hory.
