The Orlicke Mountains and Podorlicko region is found in the northern part of East Bohemia. A significant part of this area extends across the territory of the Hradec Králové region and a smaller part reaches into the Pardubice region. The boundaries of this area are given naturally by the ridge of the Orlicke Mountains and the line of Dobrošov, Dobruška, Opočno, Třebechovice pod Orebem, Choceň, Ústí nad Orlicí, Česká Třebová, Jablonné nad Orlicí and Lichkov.
The Orlicke Mountains and Podorlicko offers ideal conditions for trekking and cycling tourism, and downhill and cross-country skiing in winter months at popular ski resorts such as Deštné in the Orlicke Mountains, Říčky in the Orlicke Mountains, Zdobnice, or Čenkovice.
Cultural and historical sights also attract visitors. Chateaux in the region include Opočno, Rychnov nad Kněžnou, Častolovice and Doudleby nad Orlicí. Here are just a few of the most visited castle ruins; Potštejn and Litice, followed by Žampach and Lanšperk. It is also worth mentioning the pilgrimage sight Homol and the Baroque church in Neratov, the small church in Liberka and Veliny. Another tourist sight of interest is the military fortifications built in defence against the dangers posed by Fascist Germany (the most visited include Hanička, Bouda and Dobrošov).
