Prague is talked to be mother of cities which has its origin in the description of chronicler Kosmas, who named Prague “mistress of the whole Bohemia”. It used to be called head of kingdom and this motto was also written at the Old Town Hall in 1518. Prague is also described as stone, golden, magic or having hundreds of towers (you can nowadays count in Prague about 500 towers.
Likewise the whole country also Prague is called the heart of Europe – Prague lies in the centre of Europe and the distance to Baltic, Northern and Adriatic See is roughly the same. While Rome is built on seven hillocks, Prague stands on nine hillocks: Letná, Vítkov, Opyš, Větrov, Skalka, Emauzy, Vyšehrad, Karlov and the highest one is Petřín, so the city earned the name “Rome of North”.
